Volunteer with HTAT

Volunteers play an important role in helping us care for the cats at Here Today! If you’re interested in volunteering with us, please fill out the form below. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age, and those under 16 must be supervised by a parent or other adult when they are volunteering.

For more information about the volunteer jobs available, see the list below the application.

Below are the descriptions of many of the volunteer opportunities available:

Writer: Love to write?  Become a kitty biographer.  Get to know a kitty and tell his/her story.  Creativity is a must as we find the more creative biographies are, the quicker the kitty gets adopted.

Kitty Uber: Have a flexible schedule?  Like to drive?  Many kitties need an uber to and from the vet.  Be an on call kitty uber driver.

Ambassador on Your Feet: Delivery flyers door-to-door in the neighborhoods near you.  Place flyers and/or donation receptacles at local businesses.  Must have transportation.

Modeling Agent: Are you artistic and creative?  Love to take photos or videos?  We always need photos and videos of our residents.  Make our kitty models famous.  The more famous; the quicker the adoption.  Capture the kitty's personality and present your client to the world.  All you need is a smart phone.

Office Cat: Are you an indoor cat?  Technically savvy?  A good typist?  Help us manage our paperwork. May include data entry, posting pictures or videos, stuffing envelope, maintaining volunteer reference books, returning calls, answering phones, and other general office duties.

Go-pher the Litter: Supplies need to be purchased and brought to the Here Today.  Want to get out of the house for a short while?  Let us put you on the go-pher list.

Party Cat: Love a get-together?  Become a special events crew member.  Help us staff our fundraising efforts.  Depending on the event, various skill sets will be needed.  Should be friendly and comfortable with people.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR): Enjoy being outside?  Want to help reduce the number of homeless/shelter cats?  TNR is the way to go.  Not only will it reduce the homeless/shelter cat population, but it helps cats in those situations to stay healthier through less territorial fighting.  A very important function.

Kitty Home Maker: Like to garden?  To paint?  Help us make Here Today a great home by maintaining the building and grounds.  May be physically demanding.

Kitty Cuddler/Caretaker: Maintain cleanliness to help keep our facility healthy for our kitties and create a comfortable atmosphere for adoptions.  Tasks may include cleaning, laundry, dishes, feeding, litter boxes, and socializing kitties.  Must be able to bend, stoop, and carry awkwardly sized items.
